2013-06-03

Potential LCF applicants will be advised on the LCF application procedures, requirements and conditions as contained in the detailed LCF Guidelines and Annexures which will be available at the presentation.
.
The closing date for the submission of the online concept notes for proposals is 21 June 2013.
.
The Programme is designed to help grow local economies in KwaZulu-Natal by investing in sustainable local partnerships, which attract private and public sector investment and which create decent jobs and promote rural development. The programme will focus on the nexus between established businesses and newly established enterprises seeking to establish themselves within the formal economy.
.
This call for proposals is focused upon the implementation of economic development projects which are relevant to the core objectives of the LCF and which can demonstrate long term sustainability. The key principle of the LCF is to support market-led development to ensure the creation of sustainable employment and facilitate access to private finance for a minimum 30% portion of the implementation costs of the project. Gijima KZN LCF is able to provide a maximum of 70% of the costs, on a competitive basis, to partnership groups to implement sustainable economic development projects. All interventions from Gijima KZN LCF will be aimed at supporting viable projects that ensure the effective functioning of the market rather than its distortion.
.
R60 million is avaible for this Programme over a three year period as a grant awarded to the value of R1,000,000 to R5,000,000 000 per project. The closing date for the submission of the online concept notes for proposals is 21 June 2013. Only applicants shortlisted after the evaluation of the concept notes will be requested to submit full applications by 30 September 2013.
