eThekwini Urges Businesses To Register For The Main Business Fair As Exhibition Space Is Limited

2018-08-29

EThekwini Municipality encourages businesses that have interest in exhibiting their products at the main Durban Businesses Fair in ICC and Durban Exhibition Centre, to register before 31 August, as space to this renowned business exhibition is limited.

The main Durban Business Fair which will take place from 18 â€" 24 September is expected to be bigger and better as it will inspire entrepreneurs and visitors with a range of empowerment activities. It also intends to equip businesspersons with the appropriate skills to grow and sustain their businesses, through networking and linkages with various business sectors and potential buyers.

This premium exhibition will be headlined by influential businesspeople who will share their expertise on business development and the opportunities available for emerging businesses to tap into the mainstream economy.

Mayor Zandile Gumede said this year the Municipality is celebrating two decades of successful Durban Business Fair, which is an incredible milestone for the City.

“It is encouraging to see the impact this programme has made in developing the small business sector. There is no doubt that the Fair is one tool that we can use as the City in achieving Radical Economic Transformation” said Mayor Gumede.

She added that with the triple challenges of unemployment, poverty and inequality, the Business Fair has become one of the key strategies of the City that has managed to produce a number of remarkable entrepreneurs that have contributed in reducing the high unemployment rate.

The Durban Business Fair has yielded profitable benefits for the City such as boosting its profile, economic status, creating employment and business linkages. It is the strategic platform to achieve economic development goals as it attracts esteemed businesses, private sector partners and investors who can identify business opportunities that will in turn transform the economic status of the City.

Mayor Gumede is urging businesses to take advantage of this opportunity presented by the City to register and participate in this exciting business exhibition. “This is the platform where we can share some important knowledge on how we can work together to drive the radical economic transformation agenda,” said Gumede
