Organic products are changing the way parents shop for their children

2017-04-06

Dubbed a wellness revolution, healthy living has become a global movement and, as a result, consumer preference for organic and “all natural” products is on the rise.

Extensive research, indicating the health risks associated with harmful chemicals and toxins found in conventional foods and products, have lead scores of health conscious individuals to embrace an organic lifestyle.

Natural and eco-friendly products including foods, hygiene and skin care products and even clothing have grown in popularity in recent years and this trend is even changing the way that parents shop for their children.

Organic infant and child products are reshaping the baby essentials market as more parents consider the benefits of natural products.

Babies R Us South Africa, which stocks several organic baby and child product brands, says that parents are increasingly discerning about the products they purchase for their children, especially food and skin care items.

“We have noted a marked increase in sales and enquiries related to organic products. Parents are becoming more conscious of their benefits recognising these as a healthier alternative for their kids,” says Nicole Annells, Marketing Manager, Toys R Us South Africa.

“We believe that millennials are becoming more knowledgeable about what they eat, drink and put on their skin and when it comes to their little ones, especially newborns and toddlers, every parent wants the best for their child. Organic is top of the list because it is free from toxins and contamination,” adds Annells.

Babies R Us’ popular organic care brands include Pure Beginnings and Gluki.

Babies R Us has launched its latest catalogue, which includes discounted deals on a range of organic products as well as other baby essentials.

The Babies R Us deals are available from 15 March until 30 April.
