The Summit which was also attended by MEC for Community Safety and Liaison Mxolisi Kaunda and Mayors from the province was aimed at identifying the fundamental causes of criminality and mobilising state and non-state esources to address these challenges, including the involvement of citizens.

The summit will also devise and agree on effective and coordinated responses required by all government agencies and partners to reduce fear of crime and ensure the protection of vulnerable groups especially women, children, people with disabilities and rural communities.
