Melanie Veness - Women In Business Luncheon

2018-07-16

Melanie Veness, CEO Pietermaritzburg

Chamber of Business August is on its way, and its merry winds bring the promise of Spring, and a burst of fabulous women's events that celebrate the contribution of women from all sectors of the community.

These events present women with the opportunity to be inspired by the success of others, and if all goes to plan, hopefully many leave encouraged to go out and to be more confident, inspirational women themselves.

The Pietermaritzburg Chamber has an annual Women in Business Luncheon on 3 August and our team of ladies takes great delight in planning every detail of this particular function. This year we will focus on women supporting other women.

Balance is essential for a successful outcome, so each ingredient must be carefully considered, measured and added in the right proportions, to ensure a perfect result - one part serious business, a good measure of inspiration, a dash of humour, a heap of networking, generous lashings of celebration and a quantity of reward that can only be attributed to fine luck. We're quite excited about this year's event, because we think
that we might have got the recipe just right.

The event is generously sponsored by FNB, so the serious business aspect is well in hand.

Guests will be inspired when South African singing sensation LeAnne Dlamini performs and then shares about her #endgirlhate campaign and fun and laughter are sure to follow when East Coast Radio Breakfast DJ and comedian Darren Maule takes to the stage.

We are expecting around 350 ladies to attend, and with no shortage of "refreshments" and prizes, I feel very confident that our women's day celebration will prove to be a winner! If you'd like to attend, please feel most welcome to contact Lorna Jones on function@pcb.org.za.
