The Edison Power Group comprises the following: Edison Power (KZN), Edison Power Gauteng and Edison Performance Electrical (East London) - these companies specialize in commercial and industrial electrical installations and offer professional expertise in all stages of electrical installation. It further incorporates medium voltage and street lighting.
Edison Jehamo Power is a specialist electrical services supplier operating in Southern Africa specialising in power transmission and distribution. Edison Jehamo is involved in the erection of power lines in various parts of the country. An exciting recent deal was the Quanta-Edison Jehamo partnership - the first in Africa to specialize in live-line maintenance using the world's only patented robotic-arm technology.
Edison has formed an alliance with EMCO, one of India's largest makers of transformers, to form EMCO Edison Trans-former Africa, the nation's first black owned transformer manufacturing company. The company plans to build a transformer manufacturing plant in the Gauteng area to provide locally manufactured transformers to meet the demand of the multibillion-rand investments in power projects in Southern Africa.
A more recent development is the formation of a switch gear company called Siyandisa Power Solutions.
CORPORATE SOCIAL INVESTMENT
The Edison Power Group has a vibrant Corporate Social Investment (CSI) program. We support causes such as AIDS orphans, childwelfare, oldage homes, schools, youth organisations, etc. Many millions of rands have been dispensed in this regard. Chairman Reddy has personally launched many community initiatives and programmes.
