The Municipality wishes to congratulate France for winning the bid to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
France was bidding against South Africa and Ireland for the rights to host the world cup.
Mayor Zandile Gumede said that the city was disappointed at the outcome, but congratulated the winning nation and wished them well in hosting a successful tournament.
