ITHALA TAKES PART IN EDUCATION INDABA
Ithala recently took part in an Education Indaba organised by the national Department of Education in Ulundi.
The Education Indaba aimed to expose Grade 12 learners to post-school education and training opportunities.
Learners from the areas of Ulundi, Nongoma and Mahlabathini were given information on how to access student funding through the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS), and were also told of the different career options in Further Education and Training (FET) Colleges and universities.
Speaking at the event, the National Deputy Minister for Higher Education and Training, Professor Hlengiwe Mkhize urged students to use education as a tool to counter poverty. She also thanked Ithala and other stakeholders for making the event a success.
Siyabonga Dube from the Human Resources Division told learners that Ithala offered learnerships, apprenticeships, experiential learning and internship opportunities to qualifying learners.
