Friday 17 August proved to be quite an exciting evening as MAGNET's annual soccer tournament took place. The men of sales, stores and despatch joined forces to form the team "Magnet Sparks", competing against the opposition "Magnet Bone Collectors" comprising men from the accounts and projects departments. Magnet staff gathered at Curries Fountain Stadium ready for an evening of thrills and spills (more spills than thrills if you ask me!). After an entertaining first half that saw two goals netted, an overly confident team of storemen, despatch personnel and salesmen came on determined to claim the much sought-after trophy this year. Although the accountants and project engineers put up a worthy fight, it was indeed "Magnet Sparks" who effortlessly claimed the 2012 win with a 2-0 score after full time. "Magnet Bone Collectors" look forward to redeeming themselves at next years' tournament, a task that will prove rather difficult providing "Magnet Sparks" maintain their current impeccable form!
