It is "snake season" when snakes are active in their search for food and partners, and Hillcrest Conservancy is sending this advance notice for you to diarise an opportunity to learn more about snakes and how to deal with a ‘snake incident’.

This two-hour course has been designed and will be presented by Pat McKrill, author of the book Getting to Know the Neighbours, as although we’re all becoming more ‘eco friendly’, there is still a general lack of knowledge when it comes to snakes in suburbia and how to deal with them.

Below is a flyer for an event organised by the KZN Region of SANParks Honorary Rangers.
The birding weekend has two objectives:
  • enjoying the area as one of the best places to see the grassland biome bird species
  • all funds raised will go towards supporting the sniffer dog project in the fight against poaching within our national parks
