As the first quarter of the year is ‘tax time’ and with SARS highlighted as a pocket of excellence amongst government departments, budget information and statistics obtained from this source are viewed as being highly reliable. Hence the cause for concern arising from SARS reporting,
which indicates a declining trend in the collection of company income tax.
