Dr Mihalis Chasomeris - Academic Leader for Teaching and Learning at the Graduate School of Business and Leadership, University of KwaZulu-Natal
“Port costs and trendsâ€
Dr Chasomeris received his PhD degree in economics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He has a sustained record of research in economics, as evidenced by his attendance and presentation at national and international conferences as well as publications in accredited journals. Over the past six years he has been accepted to present papers in South Africa, Greece (2007 and 2011), China (2008), Taiwan (2008), Denmark (2009), Portugal (2010), and Chile (2011). His fields of academic research and experience in international consultancy include maritime transport economics, international trade and transportation costs.

Tim has qualifications in civil engineering, health and safety and human resources. His current focus is to link funders with infrastructure projects and to facilitate the process. Additionally, he researchs alternate funding models for public infrastructure, and assists and advises departments, municipalities and entities in the submission of funding applications. Tim also develops and maintains a pipeline of infrastructure projects and co-ordinates the Infrastructure Funding Fair.

Paul is involved in the Freight and Logistics sector in eThekwini Municipal Area, conducting long term planning, strategy and policy. He also represents the Transport Authority and Municipality in a number of national, provincial and local forums, including the Presidential Infrastructure Co-ordinations Committee which is responsible for the development of the freight and logistics infrastructure along the Durban â€" Free State â€" Gauteng industrial corridor. Paul also participates and represents the Municipality and Transport Authority on the Durban Port Committee, the KZN Freight Task Group and the Transnet eThekwini Municipality Planning and Infrastructure forum.
