Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry Western Area Business Forum

2015-06-19

Subsequent from the session held last year on the 4th of November 2014, the Durban Chamber's Western Area Forum secured a consultation session with GO!Durban to present on the progress of the project at the Premier Hotel in Pinetown on the Monday the 8th of June 2015.

The purpose of this business forum was to give an opportunity for any interested parties to ask questions and receive feedback on any pertinent issues that they may have. This is was an open session intended for the purposes of engagement with our key stakeholders within this area.

Carlos Esteves, the Deputy Head of Road System Management at the EThekwini Transport Authority and the Project Executive of the GO!Durban Infrastructure work team, presented on the progress of the project. Esteves said, ‘’We are doing the best in our ability to ensure that there is a minimum impact on the commuters in the area.’’

The development has affected commuters, residents and businesses in the area. Attendees were given an opportunity to ask questions, answered by Esteves. A suggestion that came from the floor was to install billboards with updates about the project e.g. ‘’100 days to GO! to completion’’.

‘’EThekwini Transport Authority and the Go!Durban Infrastructure work team appreciates your tolerance and apologises for inconvenience and delays caused’’ said Esteves.
