About Presenter: Nema Ramkhelawan- Bhana
As an Africa strategist, Nema analyses the macroeconomic landscapes and financial markets of selected African countries.

Nema’s research interests lie specifically in the development of SSA’s capital markets and the workings of foreign exchange markets. Nema is no stranger to the countries she covers, travelling frequently to her respective jurisdictions to conduct client presentations, address business forums and meet with policymakers and regulators.

Before joining Rand Merchant Bank Nema completed her undergraduate degree in Economics and Econometrics (cum laude) as well as an honours degree in International Trade and Finance (cum laude) at the University of Johannesburg.

In recognition of her contribution to South Africa’s bond market Nema, together with her colleague Celeste, was awarded 1st place at the JSE’s Spire Awards in 2011, 2012 and 2014.
