Durban Chamber - Tax Laws Amendment Bill and the Draft Default Regulations

2016-02-01

On 23 November 2015 the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with Old Mutual and DS&T Financial Services hosted an information sharing seminar about the Tax Laws Amendment Bill and the Draft Default Regulations.

Mr Ashleigh Davies from Old Mutual discussed amongst other things the primary aims of the retirement reform proposals set out in the policy document: A Safer Financial Sector to Serve South Africa Better, released and endorsed by Cabinet in 2011. He highlighted the changes and the implications thereof, not only for fund members but also for those responsible for their implementation.

Mr Peter Bezuidenhout discussed the recent amalgamation of the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry Groups Retirement Funds under the Old Mutual Superfund Pension and Provident Funds.
