The Forum is chaired by Nkopodi Nkopodi (Tongaat Hulett Developments).
The Goals and Objectives of this forum are:

To develop and maintain an understanding of significant development projects and initiatives in the greater Durban area, and their associated timelines and implications for Business;

To maintain an awareness of issues relating to the main components of infrastructure, namely water, sanitation, refuse management, energy, communications and transport, and share relevant information with the members;

To pro-actively engage with government to facilitate decision-making, and approvals with minimal delays; and
-
To promote sustainability in design and application.
The Terms of Reference for the forum is:
To identify and recommend action on all matters of an infrastructural nature which affect the Business Community including inter alia:
1.1 All matters affecting the transport by road, rail and air of goods and people including roads, ports, road funding, road tariffs, traffic flow, safety, and service quality.
1.2 The supply, quality and cost of appropriate services of electricity to the Business Community.
1.3 The supply, quality and cost of appropriate services of water to the Business Community and to recommend action on matters relating to effluent / industrial effluent.
1.4 The supply, quality and cost of appropriate telecommunication services to the Business Community.
1.5 The supply, quality and cost of appropriate postal services to the Business Community.
1.6 The provision of air traffic facilities.
1.7 Any policy matters relating to the Port.
To co-op onto the Committee membership representatives or professionals or other bodies on an annual basis or to invite such representatives to attend meetings on an ad-hoc basis as required.
Keeping members informed of developments and issues being addressed.
The committee shall meet at least 4 times per year.
These Terms of Reference shall be reviewed periodically and when considered necessary, due to legal or market changes, and thereafter submitted to the Board of Management for approval.
The 2016 meeting dates are:
01 March | 10 May | 12 July | 13 September | 15 November
