The KZN Top Business Awards powered by the eLan Property Group will be uploaded to DUrbanTV’s streamcasting channel and streamcast for a full month once uploaded.

DUrbanTV, the first streamcasting TV channel in SA, is bridging the gap between traditional TV viewing and the trend towards online TV viewing. With its unique hybrid of regional television combined with the innovation of streamcasting TV local, national and even international viewers are captured. This innovative channel has grown in leaps and bounds in 2015 tripling its viewership over a single year to reach over 500,000 viewers with a social media reach of over seven million impressions.

Highlights have included both national and regional company sponsorship and advertising around UrbanTV events.  The use of streamcasting technology coupled with social media enabled DUrbanTV to follow engineering students team Hulamin UKZN’s Solar car challenge as it travelled 3000 km across the Australian Outback.  The epic trip and innovative use of modern TV and social media technology brought updates to Durban viewers daily. 

KZN is a sporting province, DUrbanTV has featured a number of events including: International Polocrosse hosted in Shongweni, young up-coming sports stars such as Team Illovo’s MTB development riders, the excitement of the first sanctioned drag race at Dezzi Raceway and a unique ‘behind the scenes’ look at the classic Durban July horse race. 

DUrbanTV continues to promote our athletes and will feature our KZN Olympic athletes and follow their progress throughout August.  The channel also continually promotes the 2022 Commonwealth Games and is already keeping a close watch on our up-coming athletes and developments as the event draws nearer.

Art and Entertainment have brought a diverse fusion of culturally rich events that create their own special Durban vibe and show off our city’s artistic talent whilst our Xplore stream provides exposure to the natural heritage and beauty of our province.
