eThekwini Municipality - WINDERMERE LIBRARY RE-LOCATES

2014-03-27

Member of the public are informed that the Municipal Library currently situated at shop U15, Windermere Centre will re-locate to 236 Ninth Avenue in Windermere.

The library will be closed to the public from 09 April 2014. It will be re-locating to its new premises in the Windermere Centre at 236 Ninth Avenue (corner of Ninth Avenue and Claribel Road) and will re-open to the public on 05 May 2014.

The Windermere library opened in 1982 at its current address and over the years it has grown in its popularity due to its convenience to the residents of Morningside and the people that work around the Windermere Centre. This has caused an increase in the library stock and the usage, therefore the library has outgrown its current premises.

The new premises will be much more spacious, accommodate more people and allow for additional services/activities to the public. Future plans for the library include the construction of an internet café, lounge and study areas. This is another way the Municipality is ensuring that all citizens of the City are able to enjoy our facilities in a hassle-free and enjoyable manner.
