eThekwini Municipality - REGISTER NOW FOR SUSTAINABLE LIVING EXHIBITION

2014-05-21

Those wanting to participate in the Sustainable Living Exhibition, taking place from 22 -24 August have just a few days to register. Registration closes on 30 May and stands are limited.

The Exhibition hosted by the Municipality, through the Imagine Durban Project, for the 5th year, aims to showcase ways in which people can live a greener, more sustainable lifestyle. The Municipality is calling on companies with green technology, water and energy saving devices, innovative recycling solutions, and other products to participate.

This unique, multifaceted event focuses on renewable energy and energy efficiency, waste minimisation, up-cycling and recycling, water harvesting and conservation, food security and greening, environmental advocacy, creative arts, health and wellbeing and social justice.

The Exhibition provides a fantastic environment for sharing of ideas, peer learning, networking whilst demonstrating a possibility for everyone to contribute towards building a more liveable, caring and sustainable community.

“Last year, the exhibition attracted about 10 000 visitors,” said Bongumusa Zondo, Senior Manager of Long Term Planning. “It brings together all sectors in the greening industry under one roof, making it a one stop shop for people looking for that ideal solution to live more sustainable lifestyles â€" a solution that your business could offer.”

“The exhibition is a hub of innovation that provides inspiration and networking opportunities to those in the sustainability/greening industry. It is also the opportune platform to tap into new markets and explore other opportunities,” he added.

So, if you are passionate about living healthy and saving the environment, this is an ideal platform for you to showcase your efforts. Exhibitors can sell, network, and showcase their products.

Building a more Sustainable City is a collective responsibility of all citizens. The Exhibition is therefore open to all sectors of society, namely business, non-profit organisations, government, state owned enterprises, schools and individuals to showcase their initiatives.
