eThekwini Municipality-Loadshedding Update

2014-11-04

There are no plans for load-shedding this week but all customers are requested to reduce their consumption to assist in preventing a recurrence of yesterday’s load-shedding. The Municipality is appealing to residents to reduce their consumption by switching off all appliances that are not in use.

Eskom terminated load shedding last night, despite experiencing a very high supply constraint. Load-shedding was prevented this morning by gaining back some of the units at the affected Majuba Power Station.

The City is aware of the strain and inconvenience this situation has brought especially to students as they are undergoing year-end examination but we are doing everything in our power to avoid outages.

In case of an outage, customers are urged to switch off all appliances to assist in preventing nuisance tripping and extended outages
