eThekwini Municipality - Municipal Services Workshop2014-11-20 In an effort to bring Municipal services closer to the people eThekwini Municipality’s South Durban Basin (SDB) Area Based Management (ABM) in partnership with SAPS and various Municipal departments will be hosting a Municipal Services Workshop.
The workshop, planned to take place bi-annually, will provide a platform for invited service units to share their vision, work schedule and management plan for the South Durban Basin with the local community. Recognised business fora and community representatives will also be in attendance. The purpose of the workshop is to expedite service delivery in a coordinated, integrated and efficient manner at community level by • bridging the gap between service departments and the community. • reaching consensus on a management plan and vision for the SDB. • highlighting services and programmes run by each department. • sharing the management schedule of each department. • clarifing processes for logging complaints including turnaround times - engaging and forming partnerships with stakeholders to improve relationships. The workshop is also expected to deal with specific complaints lodged previously but is yet to be resolved due to red tape and problems encountered within the systems.
