eThekwini Municipality - Pensioner Rebate Electricity Scam

EThekwini Municipality has received information of a scam that is currently targeting pensioners in regard to completing forms for rebates on electricity consumption increases.

The Municipality confirms that no additional forms are required to be completed apart from the annual renewal rebate applications and new application forms.

Customers are urged to be vigilant to avoid falling prey to criminals posing as Municipal employees. Any representative of the Municipality will have an ID tag with a photograph, ID or employee number with the Municipal logo.
