eThekwini Municipality - Attention all suppliers and vendors-Changes to eThekwini's Supplier Self Service

2016-07-06

It has come to the attention of the Municipality that suppliers and vendors are experiencing problems logging in on the Supply Chain Management, Supplier Self Service (SSS) online procurement system.

The SSS system has been upgraded to improve client support as well as enable the Municipality to meet business objectives effective as of the 4th of July. This is as a result of the upgrade to the JD Edwards Enterprise 1 system, (JDE E1).

Suppliers and vendors are to ensure that when logging in on the new system that they must use their Supplier Number for both their username and password in order to access the system.

The current Ellipse system being used by Electricity has also been integrated with JDE E1. This means that there will be certain functions that will be performed on JDE E1 by the Electricity users, while functions such as Asset Management and Work Management will remain on Ellipse.

Should suppliers have three failed attempts to log in they are urged to contact Aveer on 031 322 7133 to be reloaded onto the system.

The upgrade to JDE E1 is required to comply with the Municipal Standard Chart of Accounts which is a National Treasury initiative. The aim of this initiative is to provide for a national standard for the uniform recording and classification of municipal budget and financial information at a transactional level.
