eThekwini Municipality-Temporal Road Closures for the Council Inauguration2016-08-22 EThekwini Municipality residents and motorists are advised be aware of the planned temporary road closures on Tuesday, 23 August 2016 during the official inauguration of 220 councillors who will serve in the eThekwini Municipality Council for the 2016-2021 term of office.
The inaugural Council sitting will take place at the Durban City Hall. Temporal road closures are as follows: From 05h00 No parking will be permitted on both sides of Dr Pixley KaSeme Street, between Dorothy Nyembe Street and Samora Machel Street, on the north side of Anton Lembede Street between Samora Machel Street and Dorothy Nyembe Street. No parking will be allowed on the east side of Dorothy Nyembe Street between Dr Pixley KaSeme Street and Anton Lembede Street. From 07h00 Dr Pixley KaSeme Street at Dorothy Nyembe Street will be closed off to motorists. Motorists will be diverted east upon Dorothy Nyembe Street. Motorists are urged to use other available alternative routes to avoid congestion. The roads will be re-opened at 15h00. Metro Police officers will be on hand to assist motorists and to divert traffic. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
