eThekwini Celebrates Culture Through Food, Fashion and Music

To celebrate the diverse cultures and talent in the City, the Municipality’s Parks, Recreation and Culture Unit will host the Food, Fashion, Music at the Park show on Saturday, 17/12/16.

The three-pronged showstopper event will showcase the rich arts and culture scene of the City.

The event will kick-off with a culinary show where celebrity chefs such as J’Something, Mzokoloko, Sbahle Mpisane, P-Dogg Amazing, Aewon Wolf and Chef Thobile will showcase their skills in the kitchen.

This will be followed by a fashion show where established and upcoming designers will showcase their unique garments. Designers include; Jerri Mokgefe, Maitele Wawe, Treasure Cindi, Ralfe, Lorre, Duke, Sheila Shelembe, Abstract Truth, Aya Velase, PK Jeans and #Baps.

The event will end off with a music concert. On the decks will be; DJs Sox, Lag, Mario and Lab. Performances will be rendered by Palm Tree Paradise, Feel, Sainty Baby, Annalyzer, Klutch Kollective, So-Cool, C-Ndaro and MissU.

Entrance to the event is free of charge. There will be pop-up stalls where patrons can buy food and garments that will be showcased.

The showpiece is part of the Municipality’s commitment to giving local talent an opportunity to showcase their talent and break into their various industries.
