The Durban based KZN Philharmonic Orchestra is widely regarded as ‘Africa’s premier orchestra.’  The KZN Philharmonic Orchestra has three symphony seasons each year, where many international artists feature, as well as the best if South African artists. This year the orchestra will be performing at the African Renaissance festival on the 23rd of May held at the Durban ICC.
The orchestra consists of 70 full time professionals reigning from all over the world. Recently the orchestra hosted the successful #Popupsymphony series, where they performed at local coffee shops.
The KZN Philharmonic Orchestra has never disappointed and for the past 30 years they have exceeded their reputation and everyone who knows about the orchestra knows that they are definitely not to be missed. 
The KZNPO is so renowned that their rehearsals are even turned into events, as the public can buy a ticket and watch their rehearsals, which are equally as spectacular as the concerts.
The orchestra’s winter season starts a few days before the African renaissance festival, making their performance special as they are usually seen at the Durban City Centre on a Thursday night. The KZNPO will perform and support the growth and development of Africans, along with celebrating Africa's efforts to rebuild its confidence and better its resources at the 2015 African Renaissance festival.
