Traffic Signals and Accessories (TSA) was established in 1995 by Glen Pillay, a Durban-based entrepreneur. While the initial goal was to produce a reliable and costeffective range of traffic signal lights, TSA has since evolved into a transport solutions company offering turnkey solutions in traffic light management, vehicle data collection, law enforcement, street lighting, solar monitoring and variable message signage with the focus on being SMART.
The company is now ranked amongst the top three leading intelligent transport systems (ITS) provider companies in Southern Africa. While based in Durban, the business has expanded to having representation in most countries in Africa, and TSA also has offices in Tanzania, Mozambique, Dubai, India and a manufacturing plant in China.

Flagship Products
The TSA flagship products are the internationally designed ITE approved traffic lights, the EC standard Lunar 32 Traffic Controller, Customised Audio Tactile Pedestrian System, Remote Traffic Management System (RMS) and now with its latest launch of the Solar Monitoring System, Wireless Electronic Cabinet Locking System and Mobile Fault Reporting Application.
The RMS is the latest in the TSA Transport solution services. The system comprises of various components which when implemented bring about traffic flow and efficiency, industrial economic growth, reduction in pollution and safety for both motorists and pedestrians. Mobile Fault Management System, an App for public and workshop staff to report, assign and track faults until its resolved, providing automatic feedback to the complainant.
Traffic counts are used by local councils to identify the volume and type of vehicle using a particular route with the intention of improving traffic flow or providing alternative routes.
In its endeavour to improve on the quality of the manual data collection, TSA designed and developed the DigiClik Manual Vehicle Counter.
Through the traffic management systems installed customers receive up-to-date information in real time with the ability to utilise the information optimising delivery to all stakeholders.
TSA provides the platforms to acquire and communicate event data reliably and accurately in real-time reducing data inaccuracies, operational costs and theft of assets resulting in an increase in service level performance. Wireless Electronic Cabinet Locking System provides tracking of staff, duration of site visit, secure entry into cabinet and reporting of unauthorised entry.
Solar Monitoring System is designed to monitor in realtime and provide proactive response to vital alternative energy sources. Improving safety and security for the community. The system is designed to be effective irrespective of manufacture or brand of energy equipment on the field. Displaying vital site information like battery - input and output voltages, charge and discharge rates, consistency of operations of batteries and solar panels and automatic reporting to personnel of possible impeding failures and time remaining for the shutdown of the system for action to be taken.
