Corobrik - Western Cape scoops six awards at annual Corobrik business conference

2014-08-14

Corobrik’s Western Cape region scooped six awards at the company’s national business conference which was held in the Drakensberg from 25 to 27 July.

Dawid Norris won the award for sales manager of the year and Nickie van Vuuren was runner-up in the best area sales manager/centre manager category.

Corobrik’s Phesantekraal Centre near Durbanville was named the winning sales centre and the Vredenburg and Somerset West Centres were shared second runners-up in this category.

The top architectural sales representative was Allistair Cloete and the sales representative of the year was Chandrè Abrahams.

Corobrik’s Western Cape region extends from the Namibian Border on the west coast to Plettenburg Bay on the east coast, also servicing Namaqualand and the Karoo area up to Beaufort West. Three of the five sales centres operating in this region won awards this year â€" Vredenburg, Phesantekraal and Somerset West.

“We congratulate the Western Cape on the high number of awards it has won this year,” said Dirk Meyer, managing director of Corobrik. “This is a region facing strong competition from other companies which makes their achievements all the more notable.”

“The number of awards won by the Western Cape is a tribute to the hard work, dedication and support of all the employees behind the scenes. Without that the winners would not have been able to achieve what they did.”

Corobrik’s 28 sales centres nationwide submit their top candidate in each of six categories for the last financial year which ended in June 2014. A panel of senior Corobrik executives then evaluates all the nominations based on set criteria such as whether they have achieved their budgeted net trading profit and whether this exceeded previous years.

Feedback from a national customer service survey conducted every quarter is also taken into account in which randomly selected customers who have bought Corobrik products are asked to rate the service received. Other factors that are considered are product knowledge, the standard of stock control and housekeeping and the internal auditing reports.

Prizes are then presented to the top performers. The winners receive a trophy, certificate and cash cheque whilst the runners-up take home a certificate and cash prize.

“We are extremely proud of our winning centres and employees,” said Christie van Niekerk,
general manager of the Western Cape region. “It is most satisfying to see them recognised and rewarded for their contribution to the growth and success of Corobrik. We would also like to thank all our valued customers for their ongoing support.”

A total of 120 staff out of Corobrik’s 2600 employees countrywide attended this year’s business conference, mainly employees who interact with clients from sales representatives to directors.

The Corobrik business awards where introduced to reward outstanding sales performance and to provide an incentive for staff to excel.
