Metro FM Awards fever spreads throughout KwaZulu-Natal

2015-02-06

Leading up to the Metro FM Awards, to be held in Durban on 28 February 2015, TKZN will host a series of roadshows in different parts of the province showcasing the many tourism attractions and hidden gems only found in the exceptional Zulu Kingdom. This is a campaign to promote KwaZulu-Natal as a must-visit tourism destination for the domestic market.

Running from 16 to 24 February, Metro FM hosts Tbo Touch and Amon will take listeners through a journey of discovery of the myriad of experiences that tourists can enjoy throughout the Zulu Kingdom. Millions of Metro FM listeners will get a chance to journey through the province as two of their most popular broadcasters discover where Nelson Mandela was captured in 1962, explore the Midlands Meander, expose their adventurous side by jumping off the highest gorge swing in the world in the southern coast of KZN, fly over the majestic Drakensberg mountains and enjoy the rich culture that the province has to offer.

Sharing his excitement about the campaign, TKZN Chief Executive Officer, Ndabo Khoza, said, "We are very excited to partner with Metro FM, the largest national commercial radio station in the country, in promoting KZN. We want to grow the base of domestic tourism continually, and build a thriving tourism sector for our trade. Our aim is to increase the culture of travel amongst all South Africans and start attracting the new traveller to our destination. Metro FM already has a captive audience of over 5 million listeners every day, so it makes great business sense for us to partner with the station.

We encourage all those planning to come to KwaZulu-Natal for the Metro FM awards to come in advance or stay a little longer so they can really enjoy our exceptional Zulu Kingdom," concluded Khoza.
TKZN, together with the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, have put together an exciting programme of events and activities.

To be part of the excitement, come to the Dundee Mall on 16 February, the Ulundi Plaza on the 17th,  St. Lucia and Shelley Beach on the 18th, at the KwaDukuza Mall on the 19th  , the Drakensberg on the 23rd  and finally at the Midlands Mall on the 24th of February.
