The South African Revenue Services (SARS) estimates that South Africa’s cumulative outward trade for January to February 2013 amounted to an estimated R115.55 billion, 6.0% increase from R108.99 billion recorded in the same period last year. During the same period, inward trade was estimated at R149.67 billion, or 12.8% from R132.71 billion in Januaryâ€"February 2012. The trade balance in Januaryâ€"February 2013 was â€"R 34.11 billion compared to â€"R 23.71 billion in 2012, while intra-Africa trade accelerated the fastest (16.9% in exports and 85.5% in imports).
