In 2013 Richards Bay Coal Terminal achieved a new milestone by receiving and exporting more than 70 million tons of coal. This is a positive development for RBCT, the supply chain, coal exporters and the country.

The final 2013 coal deliveries to RBCT were 70 810 806 tons, which is 2 086 092 tons better than the previous highest tons received of 68.72 million in 2005.  The final 2013 exports were 70 234 625 tons, which is 1 059 575 tons better than the previous highest tons exported of 69.18 million in 2005.

This performance confirms that the initiatives undertaken to improve the coal supply chain are yielding positive results.

The 2014 performance is expected to improve, reflecting the overall improvement in the supply chain.
