During the cold and rainy weather that hit Durban recently, Hirsch’s PRO’s Janine Schmidt and Shane Spencer spent time with the helpers and kids of Khulani Children’s Shelter in Durban North and took along a nice warm meal for all of them to enjoy. Khulani Children’s Shelter is a non-profit organisation that provides a Place of Safety for orphans, abused and abandoned children in Kwa-Zulu Natal, ensuring that children who are orphaned, disadvantaged, vulnerable or at risk in some way are protected, supported, educated, loved and rehabilitated into family and the community.

“Part of the Hirsch’s ethos is giving back to the community, and just seeing the gratitude on the children’s faces makes it all worthwhile,” said Shane.
