BRADD Gilmour from the LOVEMORE BROS Heavy Lifting Solution division HLS was assigned by Valmet to install the Chipping Line 7 for Sappi Saiccor in Umkomaas. Sappi Saiccor is the world’s largest producer of specialised cellulose and this project formed part of the Woodyard Upgrade Project. The expertise of the Mechanical Projects and one of Durban Rigging’s crane trucks was used in the four-month long contract where the last month was spent tackling small punch items and handling equipment commissioning for the plant. After installation, Chipping Line 7 became Africa’s largest chipping line.
