This is an initiative of the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) which is celebrated annually to raise awareness about the marine environment and inter-connectivity of oceans with the rest of inland South Africa. The campaign also aims to promote sustainable use and conservation for the benefit of present and future generations. KwaZulu-Natal Sharks Board has been hosting the event since 2007. This is a collaborative joint effort with other relevant Sister Public Entities and Stakeholders in the Marine and Environmental fraternity.
