Ugu South Coast Tourism - The KwaZulu-Natal South Coast Summer Beach Tour kicks off

The summer holidays just got started!  If you are heading towards KZN South Coast this summer prepare yourself for endless beach fun!  The festival visits 9 of our beautiful beaches along the South Coast strip this festive season once again promising  action packed beach festivals with nonstop fun for the whole family to enjoy â€" all staged free of charge along miles and miles of  glorious beach space! 

The Margate PLAY Student Festival kicked off in the clubs and beaches on the 5th December  offering matric and university students a wide range of  DJ’s spinning the decks till dawn!  The PowerPlay Sports Zone offers daily beach sports, student fashion shows and beauty pageants whilst the Club Beach Bar is pumping up the volume with all your favorite tunes! 

Keep your body in shape with Superbodies Gym instructor Wendy Flemming at the Beach Boot Camp sessions that will be on offer at St Michaels Beach starting at 05h10 in the mornings. 

Radio Lotus will be broadcasting live from Margate Beach so be sure to get down to the OB unit and meet your favorite DJ and pick up a complementary promotional gift! 

The Nivea Beach Tour heads towards Margate and Ramsgate Beach  this summer offering chill zones, great prizes, flash mob teams and the all-important suntan lotion complementary station. 

The mobile 5D cinema will have you visiting dinosaur forests, roller coaster rides with over 60 movies to choose from.  Visitors can expect special effects such as bubbles, snow, wind and spray if the movie calls for it. Riders are given 3D glasses to optimize the effect of the visuals.

Miss South Coast Summer Queen (18th December Margate Beach) makes a welcome return to the summer program.  All ages are welcome to enter on the day at the beach stage.  

The little ones can enjoy the Fanta Fun Explosion happening on Ramsgate Beach with fun chill spots, ball pits & face painting whilst The East Coast Radio  Engen  Summer Tour (Margate 19 & 20 December) will offer  a full program including live artists as well as our favorite East Coast Radio jocks broadcasting live from under the palm trees on Margate beach between 10am â€" 2pm. One-touch rugby, Engen soccer, frisbee darts, Miss and Miss Jnr Engen Competition, beach dash for the young at heart and musical statues, sandcastle-building, dancing and limbo competitions for the little ones. Spot prizes with East Coast Radio’s Msizi James ensures you have a festival that guarantees scintillating, summer selfies!

Swim, chill, make some new friends or just enjoy the fab vibe but don’t miss the Engen Beach Festival with East Coast Radio. 

Summer Fever  (Margate Beach 21 â€" 24 December) hot’s up summer even further with the Miss Summer Fever, Giant Foosball arena, beach sports, refreshment  zones and super cool DJ tunes. The Coca Cola Festival  (Margate, Port Edward, Scottburgh, Hibberdene and St Michaels Beaches) will include beach volleyball, touch rugby, beach cricket and beach golf festivals.  

The Christmas Truck, Carols By Candlelight and Harvest Gospel Festival will also be visiting our favorite beaches this summer â€" be sure to watch press for details as these dates are released. 

The Tiago’s Tour will be visiting Hibberdene and St Michael’s Beach this season offering beach games, races, fun interactive competition’s for the family! 

The Pamper Girls will be visiting Margate Beach offering beach massage and foot therapy spa’s so you can really get into the spirit of complete relaxation! 

 Other big brand action packed festivals to keep a watch out for are the Coo-Eee Summer Sports Tour (St Michaels and Margate) offering visitors beach volleyball, touch rugby and beach cricket fun zone’s. 

Tropika Promotional Juice Station will be activating on Margate, Scottburgh and St Michaels Beach offering great prize opportunities with every purchase of Tropika Crushed Ice. 

The Street Dance Festival will be running Poi Workshops, Dance Marathons, Dance Competitions and talent shows galore!  

Other festival highlights include Playboy Deo Summer Tour (Margate 29th & 30th December)   which will play host to full program of beach entertainment for the family. Thousands of rand’s worth of giveaways, gorgeous promoters, beach games and interactive promotions will keep the teenagers busy throughout the day.    

The Hunters New Year’s Eve Party (Southbroom 31 December), now listed as KZN’s biggest beach party, will take you into the new year in style with VIP decks overlooking the lagoon with private bar and cocktail seating.   Over 150m general bar space, dance floors, Nomadic Tents and SA’s latest trendy DJ’s bringing you the best in  Electro, Progressive, Minimal, Techno, Deep House featuring Royal K (JHB), Chris Taylor (CT), Jak Skandi (CT), Veranda Panda, Ryab Stylz, Ryan James and Mark Crundwell.  Gates open at 18h00, strictly over 18 years only. Early bird tickets are available on Computicket for only R220 and VIP tickets at R350.
