Seven New Activities for 2016

New mountain bike tour in Kruger
Toerboer is launching a new mountain bike tour in the Kruger National Park this month that includes two three-day itineraries. The first goes from Phalaborwa Gate to Letaba and back over three days. The second takes riders from Sable Dam Hide to Phalaborwa Gate to the Letaba River and back to Phalaborwa Gate.
Swazi Trails to open new white-water rafting section
Swazi Trails will open a new white-water rafting section downstream of Maguga Dam on the Komati River early this year. This full day excursion includes a river trip, lunch at a legendary point where the river disappears underground and a scenic return journey through one of the most mountainous and remote areas.

New Spider and Scorpion walks
Thonga Beach Lodge in KwaZulu Natal is offering nocturnal guided spider and scorpion walks during the turtle season from March 1 to October 31, weather permitting. Guides will lead guests through the coastal forests after dark, looking for spiders and scorpions using ultra violet torchlight.

New Darling Wine & Hops Trip
The Darling Wine & Hops Trip launched in mid-November and entails a day out in Darling, tasting wine, sampling beer and visiting the town's top attractions, while enjoying locally sourced food. Guests are chauffeured in a mini bus throughout the day.

Miarestate builds mountain bike trail
Miarestate Hotel and Spa on the Wild Coast will open a new mountain bike trail on the property in 2016. Three different routes, a 5km, 15km and 35km, will be offered. There are no dangerous predators on the property but there are antelope and other game, which will provide a unique mountain biking experience.

New Segway tour in Hazyview
A new Segway tour was launched on November 1 in Mpumalanga. The tour begins at Villa Rostrata Guest House in Hazyview and is suitable for anyone aged twelve and upwards. During the journey visitors will see macadamia, guava and banana trees.

Equine learning launches in the Eastern Cape
A new equine-guided leadership course, Equisight, will launch in the Eastern Cape on February 1, 2016. The EquiSight approach is non-directive, allowing for opportunities to problem-solve and be creative. It is solution-oriented and acknowledges the power of choice. Equine-guided learning involves interaction with horses. By engaging with the horses, individuals embark on a journey of personal discovery and development. As opposed to traditional leadership development initiatives, the EquiSight process provides instant, feedback on an individual's leadership style and overall leadership effectiveness. Throughout the course of the day, delegates work with the EquiSight coaches to 'unpack' and debrief the learning and insights from the various activities. The shift in learning and behaviour throughout the day is supported with strong individual coaching.
