Mazars KZN Budget Event 2015

On the morning of 27 February 2015, a breakfast event was held at the Durban Country Club concerning the 2015 Budget Speech that was held on the 25th of February. The budget event was held by Mazars KZN. Mazars is a prominent audit, tax and advisory full service international company.

After the breakfast about 80 guests made their way into the conference room, where Di Seccombe, the speaker for the event, addressed the budget speech in two parts. Namely, where we are going in financial terms and the second part, where we currently stand after the publication of the budget speech made by Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene.

One factor that was stressed was the tax collection rates concerning trusts, emphasising that individuals should be aware of the increase. More laws that were addressed included the change related to medical rebates, provisional tax and tax free investments.

Not only did the event clarify what the national budget speech actually means for South Africans, but it also gave instances and soloutions of how to survive the new tax year. The outcome of the budget speech was illustrated in a comprehendible manner, not only shedding light on some aspects, but also extending some advice.
