KZN'S business equivalent to Oscars

2015-05-14

KwaZulu-Natal's Top Business Awards have partnered with the eLan Property Group to present what they have described as the province's business equivalent of the Oscars.

the awards, which are in their ninth year, will be hosted on July 21 at the Greyville race course.

They recognise businesses in the province for good governance and social responsibility among other criteria, based on the King III report released in 2009.

Marketing manager at eLan Property Group, Tyrone Watts, said the company, which had its roots in the province, was proud to be associated with the awards.

Grant Adlam, from KZN Top Business Awards, said: "We are very excited about the new venture as it brings a substantial partner with strong KZN roots to the awards process.  We are very excited about the innovations we are making to this year's awards.

With a new partnership come fresh innovations.  One of those will be introduced is a golf day to be held before the ceremony.  the golf day, at the Royal Durban Golf Course, will give finalists an opportunity to interact.

Adlam said businesses would be recognised in 10 categories ranging from manufacturing to forestry and fishing.

Government departments and municipalities are also in the runing, with the judges taking a holistic look beyond clean audits.

Previous winners of the competition will also be recognised during the event.
