TIKZN STRENGTHENS TIES WITH SADC COUNTRIES

2011-09-05

Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal (TIKZN) will be participating in the Feira Internacional de Maputo (FACIM) international exhibition in Maputo, Mozambique from 29 August - 3 September 2011.

In keeping with its mandate, Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal does not only aim to promote foreign direct investment into the province but also in assisting local companies like Mzansi Mobile Fridges to access international markets through FACIM. The main objective of FACIM is the promotion of commercial activities, to stimulate production and consumption, and the economic integration of Mozambique in both the SADC and world economies. FACIM is a general trade fair and meeting point for producers, salespeople, investors, importers, exporters, buyers, etc.

Due to the geographical location of Mozambique, FACIM is one of the entrance doors for local and foreign entrepreneurs to promote their businesses in the SADC region.

TIKZN will use its participation as a stepping stone to strengthen cross border relations with SADC partners, strengthen both country's economies and synergise positioning as a point of access into Africa.

"With two of Africa's busiest ports, the new cargo and passenger airport in Africa, and world-class road and rail infrastructure, KwaZulu-Natal enjoys the strategic and competitive advantage of being a global gateway into Southern Africa and to the world" said Mr Zamo Gwala, CEO of Trade & Investment KZN. He went on to say, 'Its strategic location and advanced property development sector ensure a competitive edge for both local and foreign investors.".
