2016 South African Expos in China2016-08-22 China and South Africa have signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement (CSPA) to promote trade in value-added manufactured products as well as investment in the manufacturing sector in an effort to advance industrialisation. As part of the implementation of the CSPA, the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) will be hosting Expos and Investment Seminars in China from 4 to 11 November 2016 in the cities of Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai. Minister of Trade and Industry Dr Rob Davies (MP) will lead the Beijing leg of the Expos.
Targeted sectors include agriculture and agro-processing (wine, nuts, essential oils, beauty care products, Rooibos and Honeybush tea, red espresso, hides and skins, leather); chemicals; mineral beneficiation; jewellery; tourism; rail; energy; ICT and electronics; and cultural industries.
