SAICA:Announcing the Crunch the Numbers Winners2013-06-07 In an attempt to promote Mathematics among South African learners, SAICA initiated youth development programs such as the ‘Crunch the Numbers’ competition which ran through the MXIT social network. This initiative tested the Mathematics skills of youth through their mobile devices and finally ten winners will be announced. Learners from Grades 8 through to 12 were pitted against their peers in separate categories.
The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) ran the Crunch the Numbers competition on Mxit in 2012 as part of SAICA’s youth campaign activation. The competition targeted learners in Grades 8-12, where the top scorer in each category stood a chance to win a Samsung Pocket phone (sponsored by SAICA) and other exciting prizes.
