The inaugural KZN Funding Fair, an exciting public/private partnership between Deloitte KZN, the KZN
Provincial Treasury and the Department of Economic Development and Tourism, saw more than R300 million of
funding secured for corporate development projects across various industries in 2013.
The 2nd annual KZN Funding Fair, scheduled to take place in April 2014, will allow entrepreneurs and project
promoters to:
• hear valuable insights into how to prepare for and present project pitches to funders through educational
presentations
• interact one-on-one with various project funders
The KZN Funding Fair is aimed at facilitating access to the significant amounts of funding that is available
annually for business development through a broad range of organisations. Entrepreneurs and project
promoters, who will have undergone an initial selection and training process, will each be given 15 minutes in
which to pitch their business propositions and funding requests to a panel representing major funding bodies, of
which you will be a part of. We envisage each pitch taking no longer than 5 minutes with 10 minutes for related
discussion and questions from the panel.
Invitation to partake in the KZN Funding Fair 2014 as a funder
We invite you to take part in the KZN Funding Fair as one of our key selected funding bodies, as we
believe that your presence at this Fair may be beneficial to your organisation. The venue will be split
into various sections and all funders will be required to:
1. Attend selected funding pitches from the various project promoters and entrepreneurs
2. Set up and man a designated stand in the exhibition area.
Further details with regard to both these requirements will be communicated to you via e-mail once
you have indicated your interest in attending by completing the online registration form. There will be
no charge for the key funding bodies to be present, however costs related to transport,
accommodation, set-up of the exhibition area stand etc. will be for your own account.
