Durban Chamber - A New Nuclear Power Programme in SA - 17 November2015-11-12 A major nuclear power journey is about to begin in South Africa with the announcement of a new programme. The government have stated that there will be a target of 50% local content with the new project. This will boost the local economy through the investment and infrastructure that is required. Many different companies will be required to assist in the building and the running of the station as a nuclear plant requires many different parts. Any companies that are involved in any nuclear related work will have an opportunity to become a part of the nuclear project.
Dr Kelvin Kemm, CEO of Nuclear Africa (Pty) Ltd, a Pretoria-based nuclear project management company will be explaining South Africa’s nuclear power project. Two weeks ago he gave an invited nuclear power talk in Hanoi in Vietnam. He will give a light hearted explanation, which requires no prior knowledge on the part of the audience. Anybody is welcome to come and find out what the nuclear future for South Africa holds. The presentation will also provide significant discussion time.
