This consultative workshop is an integrated part of the first annual review of the municipality's Economic Development Incentives Policy (EDIP). The workshop is organised by the Economic Development and Investment Promotion Unit in collaboration with Lazarus Developments and associates, the consultants undertaking this annual review.
EDIP aims at boosting Durban's economy by reducing obstacles to investment, fostering an investor-friendly environment and facilitating local and foreign investment. It includes financial incentives that may lower costs and risks for investors and non-financial incentives can be used to diminish obstacles and encourage investor commitment. Implementation of this Policy began mid-2016. The consultative workshop seeks your opinions of and critiques on the Policy, and your suggestions for amendments. This will assist the Municipality to make adjustments that will facilitate achieving EDIP's objectives and ensure responsiveness to the target market. We hope to welcome participants from SME as well as Corporate enterprises as well as all economic sectors active within the Municipality.
