A Proud History of Struggle to Develop Black Business
The National African Federated Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NAFCOC) is an independent and non-profit business support organisation primarily, but not exclusively, serving the black community.
Our objective is to promote and encourage the development of black business, encourage a spirit of cooperation and unity among black business people and promote the full participation of the black majority in the economy of South Africa. And with over 156 000 members across the spectrum of business, NAFCOC is a powerful voice for black business.
Formed in the early 1960s, NAFCOC continued to fight for a place in the mainstream economy for black business people, through the height of apartheid in the 1970s and 1980s and continues to meet their need in the new South Africa.
It is our vision is to establish partnerships with government and parastatals and strengthen relations with international partners. We look forward to a NAFCOC Equity Fund, a NAFCOC Micro-Finance Fund and a NAFCOC bank. We will provide capacity building for our constituents, ensuring operational infrastructures and supporting members in capitalising on opportunities, and assistance with training, legal, procurement and taxation. In short, we will continue to support and encourage the development of black business.
The growth of the economy and the growth of Black Business are indivisibly linked, and as the voice of Black Business, we are delighted to be associated with KZN Top Business. We support the KZN Top Business Portfolio and the contribution it makes to the economy of KZN, and look forward to enhanced investment and further opportunities for business people across the region, and the concomitant employment and Upliftment that this will engender in the province.
